Spring to Recovery Soft Stretch Yoga — 10-Week Spring Series

Shelton Family YMCA
3/25/26 - 5/27/26
VIEW

ABOUT THIS SERIES

This 10-week series offers a gentle, nature-inspired approach to Soft Stretch Yoga. Through slow
stretching, easy breathing, and supported poses, we explore simple movements that improve
mobility and calm the mind.

Each class reflects the gradual unfolding of spring in the Pacific Northwest — beginning with the
first soft rains of the season and moving through root, mist, fern, forest light, and wildflower, before
settling into the deep quiet of lichen at the close.

The arc of the series mirrors both the season and the journey of recovery: beginning in stillness and
gentle receiving, building gradually toward openness and ease, and returning at the end to a place of
rest — not as retreat, but as arrival.

No experience required. Perfect for beginners, older adults, and anyone looking for a calm,
supportive yoga practice.

No flow or intensity. Every class is slow, supported, and accessible. Come as you are.
Nature as teacher. Each week draws on the rhythms of the Pacific Northwest to guide the body
and quiet the mind.

TRX Suspension Training

Plum Street YMCA
3/3/26 - 4/30/26
VIEW

TRX suspension training is an innovative exercise involving a system of straps, buckles, and webbing, known as a suspension trainer. The system allows you to work against your body weight and gravity to create resistance. TRX suspension training can strengthen your core, build stability, increase flexibility, and improve balance by targeting any muscle group or skill level. It is ideal for athletes, military personnel, and anyone looking for a mobile, challenging, and rewarding workout.

The TRX system allows you to work against gravity by using your body weight as resistance. You can adjust the difficulty of an exercise by changing the angle of your body relative to the ground, making it easier or harder depending on the activity. This provides a versatile form of training that you can tailor to your fitness level.

The straps are versatile and can be attached to different anchor points such as a wall, door, tree, or any stable piece of equipment. This allows you to do hundreds of other exercises from the comfort of your own home. Increasing or decreasing the angle can make the same exercise more challenging or easier, depending on your fitness level.

In addition to being a great way to improve your strength and mobility, TRX suspension training also helps develop balance and coordination. This makes it an effective way to reduce the risk of injury during other types of physical activity.
